Jahi Asad Nelson, a native New Yorker, is a multi-talented musician who’s been performing throughout the U.S. as a bassist, guitarist and drummer. For two decades, he has worked with several indie and national country, rock and hip-hop artists throughout the East Coast.

While living in Brooklyn, he worked as a session bassist for Aaron "Freedom" Lyles of Ain't Nuthin' Free Productions (Angie Stone, Charlie Wilson, Hi-Five) and Da Beatminerz (Heltah Skeltah, Smif-n-Wessun, Black Moon). A couple of session partners put him in contact with a few producers in Atlanta. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Georgia.

Working diligently within the Atlanta circuit, he managed to meet OutKast's Andre 3000 and record "Land of A Million Drums" for the Scooby Doo 1 soundtrack.  He also recorded with Public Enemy's Professor Griff and his side project The 7th Octave. Jahi had the great opportunity of playing with 7th Octave and open for Avenged SevenFold, Fall Out Boy and The Offspring at the Vans Warped Tour in 2005.

Currently, he is playing with corporate event show bands; performing and writing with the Adam Moreno Project and an Orlando southern rock outfit called Cumberland Gap. Jahi is working solo album entitled "Yo, Jah!" with guest appearances from several local artists and producers. It's scheduled for release in 2020.
